VALENTINE TREATS

 These delicious bite-sized treats don’t have to wait for Valentine’s Day – you can treat yourself any time…

You Need:

12 small paper/foil cases, about 3cm diameter. (like miniature patty cases)

100g Cooking chocolate (dark or milk melts

125g Philly cream cheese

2 Tblsp Sugar

2 capfuls of Rum (or other liqueur, or flavour.)

Melted chocolate or pieces of fruit for decoration.

 

Method:

Melt the chocolate (this is easiest to do in a glass bowl in the microwave) and coat the inside of the paper cups. This can be done with a fresh, clean paintbrush, or a narrow knife, or even a folded piece of paper.

Sit the chocolate cups on a tray and place in the freezer while you prepare the filling.

Beat the cream cheese with the sugar and rum – if the mixture is too think you can add a little bit of cream to thin it.

Spoon the cheese mixture into the chocolate cups. Smooth off the tops and pop them back in the freezer for a few minutes.

Paint or pipe a heart (or other design) on top of each cheese cup, using some melted chocolate. Or – decorate with slivers of fresh fruit or even just chocolate sprinkles.

Carefully peel away the paper from the outside and serve to your Valentine!
