LAST CAST IS A GOOD ONE!

It is almost the end of the 2005 fishing season at Sweers and some of our final guests are making the most of the glorious calm weather - the calm before the storm (we hope - like the rest of Australia, we could do with some rain!)

Stan trying to look serious...     There's something big on the end of that rod!

That's regular visitor from Mt Isa Stan Oliver and his mate - hooking a big one!

Here is Bill Henning from Pakenham Victoria with a fine GT weighing in at 30 lbs -

A whopper of a GT!

And his mate Graham McCraw, also from Pakenham, Victoria, with his 30lb GT!

Another whopper!

Well done, guys!

FAMILY FUN!

Here is the Hogan Family from Brisbane, with a fine catch of Fingermark. The Hogans drove all the way to the Gulf, and this is their second trip to the island. As you can see, they are quite skilled fishermen and women!

And little Lily has to be our Belle of the Month...

ADAM STRIKES AGAIN

Well, first we must flash back to this photo taken in 2003:

Now to this afternoon...

when Adam landed a 73cm Barramundi and his mate Tony landed an 83cm Barra. Both fish caught on light Baitcaster gear, using 45g Raider lures. Well done guys!

And if you scroll down, we'll have a photo of their catch cooked up for the big Celebration Dinner. Also, there was a third Barra caught, but it was released as these guys are not greedy - they got their photos and their feed, and released the surplus so that they can come back again in another year or two and do just as well! And the rest of the guys were not slacking - they caught some nice Fingermark which they will email us pix of so we can post them to the web next week.

The guys travelled to Sweers again this year with Micromist Aviation who regularly fly tour groups to Sweers from all over southern Australia. For details contact micromist@bigpond.com

So here is Lee preparing the Barra for the oven...

And here they are being devoured by Tony and Adam - with Mick next in line!

And the final dinner and beers and smiles...

Now that is a Happy Ending!
