MIXED BAG

A mixed bag indeed, with several groups of mixed mates overlapping and meeting up at Sweers in July - we have the Robertson Brothers, Leon Allen group, the Clark couple (stars of our new brochure!), the Soulsby group, and others - all caught up with each other on the island. And a nice mixed bag of fish from them too.

On the left = father and son Leon and John Allen with a couple of magnificent Scarlet Perch,then Miss Ellie with her first ever Spanish Mackerel! What a way to start off! Then Graham Roberton with the biggest Fingermark we have ever seen, 6.2kg, check out the closeup! Then Graham Taylor with another huge Mackerel and on the right, Hamish Kerr with a lovely Cobia.

After a big day out on the water, the boys and girls relaxed enjoying the fruits of their labours... fresh Tuna Sashimi...

Leon and Brian also chartered MV Salomon for a spot of Night Fishing. They headed out with skipper Mick late afternoon, with a packed picnic dinner and nibblies, and returned home later that night with big smiles and a mixed bag of fish. The tides at the time were not ideal for night fishing (there is only one tide a day in the Gulf) but the boys said it was a really different experience to the daytime fishing, and they enjoyed the magnificent starry skies all around them.
