Well, the 2006 Season has drawn to a close. Tex & Lyn are off on their boat MV Trim, exploring the Hinchinbrook Passage. I doubt if they will be doing any fishing, but if they produce any newsworthy photos we will post them here. Mick & Lee are busy doing Relief Management and visiting family/friends. The four will be meeting up for Christmas on board MV Trim out of Cairns - there is BOUND to be a photo resulting from that! So - Watch This Space - and we look forward to seeing you all in 2007.
That's Lee & Mick, Lyn & Tex ready to set off on MV Trim...
LISTONS GET THE LAST LAUGH... The last group to fish was the Liston group from the Atherton Tablelands, near Cairns. Regular visitor Malcolm Liston brought some of his mates along to show them what real fishing is like. They only had 24 hours and they certainly made the most of it. Check out these photos!
The Fab Four with some Fab Fingermark! Mal, Greg, Andrew & Phil.
Greg got serious with the Ugly Stik and landed this fine cod, but true conservationist that he is, he released it to swim another day...(We think it was just after his flash shorts...)
Not to be outdone, Mal landed this nice Sweetlip...
While Phil got all emotional and confused SweetLips with Scarlet Sea Perch...maybe they wanted to be on photobucket.com?
Andrew drives the lads to another top fishing spot...
Greg displays more of his high-fashion style on the foredeck...
Another perfect day draws to a close... the fish are just a bonus! (And we just loved their shorts!) And we promised the guys we would show them how to tie a BIMINI KNOT - click the thumbnails below to see how it (and a couple of other handy fishing knots) can be done... (Thanks to Top End Imports for the Knot tecnhiques...)
Well, we thought that the Mackerel season was over ...til Steve Branch and his crew arrived (in October!) and among a nice batch of fish (which they mostly caught and released) they caught the following...
That's Steve's mate Henry Ayala and his sons Joshua and Jordan. Joshua caught a School Mackerel, Henry holds his 8kg Spanish Mackerel, and young Jordan caught a nice Sweetlip. Well done, guys!
But wait - there's more! On the last day - Henry caught ANOTHER Spanish Mackerel! This whopper was 13kg...
That's young Jordan admiring dad's 13kg Spanish Mackerel!
Here's Jason Dwyer with a lovely Mangrove Jack...
And here's Bronwyn Turner with a lovely Fingermark Perch...
And David Thomson with a nice Queenie...
