MAY MAYHEM WITH MAKEHAMS!

The Makehams are back with grand-daughter Candace in tow, learning a few tricks from shark-fisher grandma Jenny... And this family proves that you don't necessarily have to go out in the boat to have fun fishing - one morning they caught (and released) over 20 Trevally off the Sandy Point... Jenny also tested out some new shark gear...and Maurie has been a very diligent 'caddie' for the two girls. They also went out in the boat and caught some nice fish there too...

(Note that from July 1, 2009, sharks more than 1.5m cannot be caught.)

Maurie and Jenny beach fishing...     Jenny 'Quad fishing' on Sweers!     This shark put up a good fight...     Candace the Beach Belle!     Not just a pretty face, she knows how to use her fishing gear...     And gets results...     Candace with a nice Red Emperor...     Jenny with a nice Cod...

Jenny and Maurie caught good fish down at the Sandy Point.. Candace had better luck out in the boat..

Lee feeding the Curlews...     Two brand new curlew chicks...     Lilly loves the water!     "I know there's a ball up there somewhere..."

The curlews still come in to feed at night, and they have two little chicks! The dogs don't chase them, they are much too busy playing on the beach and chasing ball!

(Thanks to Candace for the great photos!)

And Maurie also took some great shots, so here is a selection of his photos - again, click on the thumbnails for a larger image...

                       Expert filleter and skinner now!

Left to right: Candace wielding the big beach rod...hooked on something big...lassoo that tail before it does some damage!...with a little help from Nanna...some filletting lessons too, keeping a barracuda for bait...Jenny with a lovely big 'Cuda.
