Mug Cake

You are now just 5 minutes away from Chocolate Cake! Baked in a mug, in the microwave, this is the Chocolate Lover’s Dream come true!

 

Degree of difficulty: Low

 

You need:
2 tablespoons Self Raising Flour
2 tablespoons Sugar
1 Tablespoon Cocoa
1 egg
1 tablespoon milk
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
½ teaspoon vanilla essence
1 x 300ml capacity Mug
icing sugar for sprinkling on top

 

Method:
Put the flour in the mug, add the sugar and cocoa and mix well. Crack in the egg and whisk thoroughly. Add the milk and oil, then the vanilla essence. Whisk again.

Put the mug in the microwave and cook on High for 3 minutes. The cake will rise really high out of the mug, but when you stop the microwave it will sink down again, so don’t panic!

Allow a minute ‘standing time’ then eat from the mug or turn out onto a serving plate and dust with icing sugar.

 

Serving Suggestion: Nice with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
