FISH, FISH AND MORE FISH!

Perfect weather at the moment after another couple of windy days and it was worth the wait, with father and son duo Dick and Nick Wilson from Horsham in Victoria bagging a couple of nice Spaniards this afternoon:

Worth another look, don't you think?!

That's Nick with his 12 kg Mackerel                             and Dick with his 10 kg Mackerel.

Well done, guys (and Nick went and caught another one this afternoon!)

Well, after a week of unusually windy weather, it has calmed down and the Mackerel are back.

Two big groups here at the moment - the Perrot Crew from Sydney area and Phil Horton's crew from Deniliquin (here with regular charter operator Wayne Cowan, Rich River Aviation.)

We would have shown you some State of Origin photos but it was such a sad day for Queensland that we will show you some Happy Snaps instead - here is the Perrot crew with their catch of the day. The lads got a nice Mackerel each, and not being greedy, came home for a cold beer and a relaxing evening in front of the tv...

A mackerel each - how good is that!

From Left to Right are:

Ken Johnson, Ian Johnson, Carlos Malanga, Liam Campbell, Christian Perrot, Gary Perrot, Gordon Simpson, Andrew Perrot. With about 60-70 kg of fish between them. Well done, guys.

Liam is Irish so naturally Lyn will show some favouritism for a fellow countryman and give him a photo spot of his own - however, he did get the biggest fish of the day so here he is with his 18.5 kg Spanish Mackerel:

That is the Luck of the Irish!

Yesterday, Andrew Perrot and Carlos Malanga caught a couple of nice fish. Here's Carlos with his Mackerel and Andrew's Sea Perch:

What a way to end the day...

During the windy week, regular visitors Andy and Matt Bohn managed to bag a few very nice fish in spite of the tough conditions. Here's Matt with a fine Spaniard:

Perfect Sunset, Perfect Fish...

Young Cris Wiskar caught a beautifully marked Red Emperor - here is his dad Craig holding it up for the photo:

A Real Reddie

For some people it was all a bit too much hard work...

ZZZZZzzzzz...

It has been a busy few weeks and we're only now getting time to post these photos of the past fortnight so apologies to those of you who have been eagerly awaiting your moment of glory but here you all are, in no particular order, Well Done Everyone!

That's Chris Wiskar with a lovely Scarlet Sea Perch and a Fingermark caught yesterday on a 15lb line using a Silstar Egg Beater Reel. Chris also caught a magnificent Red Emperor - he's promised to email the photo when he gets home so you can all see what a real Gulf Reddie looks like! Well done, Chris.

And that is long-time regular visitor Sue Dyason, from Mansfield, Victoria, with a lovely Fingermark she caught recently. Sue and husband Jock are a travelling Photo-Journalist team and have fished all over the world. Well done  Sue!

That's Kerryn and Craig from Hervey Bay with the magnificent Giant Trevally that they caught - sorry - that KERRYN caught! She just let Craig hold it for the photo! And a wonder she let him, when he made her fight it for 45 minutes and haul it in all by herself! Well done Kerryn! And as you can see, the fish was so big it wouldn't fit in the photo. These photos were taken with a mobile phone and I still had to resize them for the web - excellent quality! So you don't need a camera guys - record your prize catch on the phone and email it to us when you get home!

And there's Butch and Ross from Swan Hill (Murray Downs Fishing Club - some more of their pics below) with a couple of fine Spanish Mackerel. Excellent fishing guys. And by the way, girls - these guys are producing a Calendar as a fundraiser for their fishing club, due out at the start of the new Financial Year, and are we giving away too much if we tell you that they posed for the photos in the boats, with their fish...and nothing else???
