"WHERE'S THE WHOPPERS?" That's their logo this year (check out their shirts) and like it says on the back, the Whoppers are on Sweers Island!
That's Norm with a fine Spanish Mackerel, just to prove the Macks are still around the islands in August...
And today, he did it again!
But Norm is happy to share the limelight with his mates...
Bill Edwards did OK today too - here he is with one of the two massive cod he caught - Bill just kept them on board long enough for a brag and a photo, then released these big breeders back into the Gulf - well done, Bill...
"Team Chilli" also did pretty well - these colour-co-ordinated blokes are not just for show - check out that mackerel...
And at the end of the day, the guys still had enough energy to cook a BBQ dinner for the resort management - EXCELLENT, GUYS!
And if you'd like another look at their flash T-shirts...specially printed for the trip... click on the photo below for a close-up...
REDDIE, STEADY, GO! Harry Edwards and crew are back and have got straight into the quality fishing with this catch of Red Emperor...
That's Darren Mackenzie "Bazza" and Harry Edwards and that's definitely worth a close-up.....
Nice catch, guys! Norm Privy got in on the action too, with this nice Tuna caught yesterday afternoon, shortly after they arrived after flying from Brisbane to Mt Isa then driving to Burketown, and flying across to the island with Savannah Aviation...
MACKS STILL ON THE ATTACK... Here's Craig, John and Kevin, the 'Wagga Wagga Boys', with their team effort 15.5kg ( that's about 34 pounds!) Spanish Mackerel, caught this afternoon. Well done, Team!
STAFF CAN CATCH FISH TOO! Well, how could you live on Sweers Island and not go fishing when you get the chance! So when we had a few quiet days, we let Lee out of the kitchen (no muffins on the menu today!) and she went out to try her luck. She caught this magnificent cod, quite a struggle to land it, with it just hooked through the loose skin of its lip! These big cod are usually the breeding stock, and we prefer to release them, so Lee got her photo and lowered it over the side to live another day. Well done, Lee!
