CYCLONE RODNEY IS BACK! Yes, it's that time of year again and the Boys from Home Hill are back in town! Rodney, Terry and the rest of the stalwart crew are here and off to a fine start with a great selection of Reds, Parrotfish, Stripey, Sweetlip etc - here are the pix from Day One...
That's Team Leader Rodney on the left with a Scarlet Sea Perch and Red Emperor, and the Stone brothers looking anything but stoney-faced with a lovely catch of Reddies... ...and here's Billy Dingle with an awesome Jewfish...
Next day was a bit windy so the boys went for a drive around with Mick after a 'History Talk' with Tex, to explore the island's many historic sites (click here to read more about Sweers' history) Click on the thumbnails below to see a larger image... Yes, they're still fishing in the afternoons - and got some nice Parrotfish etc but no photos, and sorry, but lyn can't download pix off the Tully group's (Alan Flegler) camera to post right now - will have to wait til they get home and can email us! TIP: Please bring the cables to link your camera to our computer! We do have a card reader but it doesn't read all cards. The Home Hill boys held their usual 'Awards Night' on the last evening - here is a selection of photos from the usual fun-filled night... Click on the thumbnails below to see a larger image... Ed is still crowned the King of the Senior crew...Rodney was an excellent Con the Fruiterer as he selected only the best fruit/veg to bring up to the island...Wattie and Ed get ready for a Le Mans start... as Terry presents an Award...and Mick awards Charlie the Biggest Cuddler... Click on the thumbnails below to see a larger image of the actual Awards as drawn up and presented by Terry...
BARRA ARE BACK! Not what you think, sort of - Lee went out with Mick this afternoon, and yes, she did hook a Barramundi which broke off after the second dance on the wavetops - but she did manage to hook and land this massive Barracuda - 8kg - which is well over a metre long - HUGE fish, HUGE fight and well done Lee to haul it on board! They are listed as reasonable eating, but we have better eating fish here so we will be using this one as bait, and they are excellent bait too - the lucky guests this coming May weekend will most likely be using it to catch some whoppers!
