RECORD BROKEN!

Well! Who would have thought that this late in the season it could happen, but the record catch for Spanish Mackerel for 2010 has been broken! And in style! Regular visitors Dennis Lynch and Greg Maguire made their annual trek north, bringing their friends Steve, Andrew and Justin with them. The guys had a great time as usual, and Dennis, Greg and Justin departed for home with happy smiles, leaving Steve and Andrew to enjoy a few additional days' fishing...

Guess what - on the last day - they caught a couple of huge Spanish Mackerel - well outside the expected Mackerel Season - and yes, Andrew's fish, weighing in at a massive 23.4kg tops the current record! Sorry, Brenden!

RECORD CATCH FOR 2010

Well, the record was up and down there for a while, giving everyone a chance at the record - but it is probably safe to say that the record for 2010 now safely lies in the hands of Brenden Stevenson with his 22.8kg Spanish Mackerel. Brenden hails from Carindale and he caught his fish on a live Stripey using a balloon to float a bait off the back of the boat. Well done Brenden!

That is one big, heavy fish! Well done, Brenden!
