WHAT A START TO THE 2007 SEASON!

The Wellings Group from White Cliffs and beyond, were the first group to fly in and test the waters. And what a surprise - as well as a good haul of mixed reef fish, they fulfilled their personal goals of catching a true Gulf Barramundi AND the first (very early!) Spanish Mackerel of the season!

Graham Wellings with his 80cm Barra!                     Russell Kimber and his 10kg Spanish Mackerel!

That's Graham Wellings on the left, with a beautiful Barra, caught off the beach on his last morning before departing Sweers - on that 'Just One Last Cast' - well done Graham! Graham and his wife Maxina run the White Cliffs Hotel Motel and have been coming to Sweers for many years, but this is his first Sweers Barra. www.whitecliffshotelmotel.com.au

And on the right is first time visitor to Sweers - Russell Kimber, from Crossover, Gippsland, Victoria, with a magnificent 10kg Spanish Mackerel. It's Russell's first spaniard, but he says it won't be his last! Well done, Russell - the first Big Mack of the 2007 season.

And, we had the Peter Armstrong group -

PETER ARMSTRONG WRESTLES THE BIG ONES!

They're back! Lindsay Wellings (related to Graham of White Cliffs fame...) was here earlier this year, and this time he's back with his mate Peter Armstrong, another regular, plus their companion 'Bubbles' (don't even ask...) - the guys did quite well as you can see below...

Lindsay, Bubbles & Peter with a fine catch of Macks!
